BactoFlor^® AB children is a highly concentrated microbiotic from Intercell Pharma's BactoFlor^® portfolio, designed specifically for children aged 4 and over and for short-term use – particularly suitable for meeting the demand for natural microcultures in a qualitatively sound way, for example during a course of antibiotics.

Each capsule contains eleven complementary bacterial cultures from the small and large intestine flora, combined with the yeast culture Saccharomyces boulardii. The bacterial spectrum is tailored to the child's gut flora: with four Bifidobacterium species – including Bifidobacterium infantis as a typical representative of the child's gut flora – the bifidobacteria are deliberately broadly represented.

A further special feature is the yeast culture Saccharomyces boulardii: it belongs to a different biological group than the bacterial cultures and complements their spectrum with a yeast culture. With 8 billion colony-forming units (CFU) per capsule – 7 billion from bacterial cultures and 1 billion from Saccharomyces boulardii – BactoFlor^® AB children has an age-appropriate concentration. As with all BactoFlor^® products, this is the guaranteed viable cell count until the end of the shelf life, made possible in part by the microencapsulation process.

As a cofactor, BactoFlor^® AB children contains the nutrient vitamin D3. Vitamin D3 contributes to the normal function of the immune system in children. The formulation is complemented by the trace element zinc.

All microcultures contained have natural, tested gastric acid stability – they pass through the stomach intact, reach the intestine viable and require no gastric acid-resistant coating of the capsule. They are therefore particularly robust cultures with excellent microbiotic properties.

Storage advice

Please store in a cool place (for example in the refrigerator), not above 25 °C, dry and out of the reach of young children. Thanks to the microencapsulation process and the protective blister, the declared viable cell count of 8 billion CFU per capsule is maintained until the end of the shelf life.

BactoFlor^® AB children is manufactured in Germany. Intercell Pharma is certified to the international standards FSSC 22000 (food safety) and ISO 14001 (environmental management) by the testing institute SGS. The product is vegan, gluten-free and suitable for children with lactose, histamine and soya intolerance.

Additional quality assurance is provided through individual weighing: every single BactoFlor^® AB children capsule is checked separately for its weight and is subject to strict tolerances (± 5 %). This ensures that each capsule contains a constant and exact quantity of microcultures.
