BactoFlor^® vag is the BactoFlor product from Intercell Pharma featuring natural lactic acid bacteria of the vaginal flora. It combines five microcultures with biotin as a cofactor.

The five synergistic key strains are lactic acid bacteria that occur as a natural component of, among other things, the vaginal flora. The vaginal or intimate flora is a dynamic ecosystem of microorganisms of varying origin and number; the lactic acid bacteria it contains – such as lactobacilli – are among the microorganisms that help shape the acidic environment typical of the vaginal flora. With Lactobacillus rhamnosus (as a two-strain complex), Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus gasseri and Lactobacillus crispatus, BactoFlor^® vag contains four species in high concentration. The strains were selected with regard to their natural occurrence in the vaginal flora. The second component is biotin. Biotin is a water-soluble vitamin of the B group and is included in the formula as a cofactor.

With 10 billion colony-forming units (CFU) per capsule, BactoFlor^® vag offers a study-compliant concentration of bacterial cultures. As with all BactoFlor^® products, this is the guaranteed viable cell count until the end of the shelf life, made possible in part by the high-barrier protective blister, which protects the sensitive microcultures particularly effectively during storage. This special packaging is impermeable to oxygen and water vapour.

Storage advice

Please store in a cool place (for example in the refrigerator), not above 25 °C, dry and out of the reach of young children. Thanks to the microencapsulation process and the high-barrier protective blister, the declared viable cell count of 10 billion CFU per capsule is maintained until the end of the shelf life.

BactoFlor^® vag is manufactured in Germany. Intercell Pharma is certified to the international standards FSSC 22000 (food safety) and ISO 14001 (environmental management) by the testing institute SGS.

Additional quality assurance is provided through individual weighing: every single BactoFlor^® vag capsule is checked separately for its weight and is subject to strict tolerances (± 5 %). This ensures that each capsule contains a constant and exact quantity of active substances.
